How can Chiropractor Help you if you live in Chicago ?
Before I begin, let me give you a little insight to where my perspective on the healing comes from. By training, I’m a scientist. I am really good at looking at issues critically and deciphering facts and problems based on factual evidence and sound theories. At the same time, I always had an interest in alternative medicine and while I lived in Seattle for 5 years, I had the chance to experience directly and learn various healing modalities such as naturopathic physician care, acupuncture, homeopathy, Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Techniques (NAET).
Some of my knowledge comes from being the inquisitive patient, some comes from discussions with students of Bastyr College of Naturopathic medicine who I befriended while in Seattle. While in Chicago I also took several classes on Reiki, and became a Reiki Master/Teacher and hence I have the insiders perspective on how energy healing works and what it can and can’t do.I am a strong advocate of alternative therapies in conjunction with or sometimes instead of traditional medicine. However, recently, I have been really bothered by practices of chiropractor (some not all) and I feel that there are many out there that take advantage of the general lack of understanding of how the human body works in patients to keep their businesses going.

Yes, a chiropractor can help people with allergies. Next time you are feeling unwell due to allergies, you should consider visiting a chiropractor. Chiropractic care is a holistic method of providing relief for the discomfort you feel when you suffer from allergies. Your chiropractor can successfully treat allergies by keeping your body healthy and less vulnerable to allergic reactions. A visit to a chiropractor, when you are suffering the symptoms of an allergic reaction, may help you to cope with your condition and make you feel much better. How can a Chiropractor help you? Allergic reactions are common immune disorders. Hay fever, for example, can cause your eyes to water; it can cause you to sneeze uncontrollably, to sniff or to cough. Although there is no cure for people who suffer from allergies, the symptoms caused by an allergic reaction can be treated. Your immune system is affected by nerves and hormones. The immune system fights the invasion in your body of foreign substances, such as pollution, pollen, dust, and animal dander. People with allergies may also react to a wide variety of triggers such as bee stings, various medications, and certain foods. Research shows that there is a link between your immune system and your nervous system. Because your spinal column houses the spinal cord, a dysfunctional spinal column can influence your nervous system; therefore a dysfunctional spinal column will make you more prone to allergies. A chiropractor can help you by removing nerve interference to allow your immune system to work to its full capacity. How does a Chiropractor treat People suffering from Allergies? A chiropractor takes a holistic approach to the treatment of allergies. Visiting a chiropractor during the season of the year when you are most affected by your allergy may result in you being able to cut down on allergy medication. Although allergy medicines work well to help you control your allergy you may find that there are side effects such as drowsiness. By seeking help from a chiropractor you may be able to take less medication or a smaller dose. The chiropractor will correct any interference to your nervous system and this will strengthen your immune system, therefore making you better able to fight against the various allergens that cause you distress. Chiropractic treatment removes subluxations. Subluxations are misaligned spinal vertebra that pinches a nerve in your body. Subluxations cause stress to your nervous system. Once your nervous system is free from stress, your immune system will be healthier and more able to fight against whatever triggers your allergy. It does not matter what triggers your allergy, you will benefit from chiropractic treatment to your spine. If your spine is healthy, your quality of life will improve because you will have a stronger immune system. Your body will be better able to adapt to allergic reactions and you may be able to lower the amount of medication you need to take in order to remain healthy. If you suffer from an allergy it is a wise decision to consult with a chiropractor and see how you can be helped.

Bloating, abdominal cramping, gas, diarrhoea or constipation? You may be suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).If this debilitating condition is making it hard for you to work, attend social functions, or travel, you may finally find relief by undergoing Chiropractic care. Although you may not know what is causing your IBS, seeing a Chiropractor may just be the solution you have been waiting for.IBS may affect up to 20% of the population at some point in their life. For some the symptoms may be mild, and well for others, life can become quite uncomfortable and stressful. Whether it affects you at work, home or socially, seeing a Chiropractor may allow you to live a more comfortable life, free from pain. Before we begin to understand how a Chiropractor may be able to help with IBS, let's first look at what IBS is, and some theories of why it may develop. Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a functional disorder of the large intestines, affecting the nerves and muscles of the bowel. The nerves can sometimes become oversensitive and the muscles may not contract as well as they're supposed to. This can cause abdominal pain and irregular bowel movements. This altered bowel function may affect the way your intestines respond to stimuli (such as certain foods) as well as stress that would not normally bother other people. Researchers have not yet discovered any specific cause for IBS, but they have been able to find similarities in some of the sufferers: 50% of people noticed symptoms of IBS after a major life event - such as the loss of a loved one, change of house or job, etc. This suggests that there may be a possible psychological trigger for IBS. 20% of people noticed symptoms after inflammation or infection of the bowels - suggesting infection as the cause. While IBS does not have a definitive cause, it does have certain triggers. Some of these include: • Certain medication • Alcohol and caffeine • Dairy • Wheat, rye, barley and chocolate • Stress • Eating large meals • MSG • Artificial sweeteners. How can a Chiropractor help? Chiropractors believe that there is a strong relationship between the intestines and the nervous system (brain, spinal cord, and spinal nerves). In order for your bowels to work as best as they can, your nervous system must be able to send information to your intestines without any interference. Since the spine houses the spinal cord (a component of the nervous system), misalignments in the vertebrae (bones) of the spine, may lead to interference of this communication network, and hence lead to irritable bowel. Chiropractors refer to this interference as a subluxation. By correcting these subluxations, the nerves are better able to carry the messages to the bowel to allow for their optimal functioning. This is how a Chiropractor may be able to help people suffering with irritable bowel syndrome. There have not been any studies that prove Chiropractic to be effective with IBS, but it is becoming an increasingly popular alternative treatment for this ailment. Many Chiropractors report that spinal adjustments have helped their patients better manage their irritable bowel.Chiropractic care has also been known to help reduce stress - one of the culprits of IBS symptoms. And a good Chiropractor may also be able to propose a suitable food plan, to minimise the symptoms of this stressful condition. While medication masks the pain and symptoms, as you can see, Chiropractors treat the underlying cause of IBS. Are you sick and tired of putting up with an irritable bowel? Why not consider Chiropractic as a safe, gentle and effective means for managing the pain and discomfort associated with this ailment.
